BetOnline Poker is inviting players to “Tweet for Your Seat” in a $1,000 freeroll tournament that will take place next Sunday; but you only have until midnight on Thursday to send your Tweet if you want to take part in the event.
There is a lot going on at BetOnline Poker right now. New games, bigger tournaments and some interesting promotions are combining to give players a much more rewarding online poker experience. Now the site has launched another promotion in which players are invited to “Tweet for Your Seat” in a freeroll tournament scheduled for next Sunday (4th February) with $1,000 in cash prizes.
The event will be a “standard” BetOnline freeroll tournament. It starts at 6:00pm (ET), has no late registration, and only the top thirty players will cash in the event. As the tournament coincides with the start of the Super Bowl, there will also likely be plenty of dead money on the tables due to players fulfilling the qualifying conditions without considering the time of the target tournament.
How to Tweet for Your Seat
In order to qualify for BetOnline Poker´s $1,000 freeroll tournament, you must already have an account with the site (details of how to create an account can be found in my BetOnline Poker review). Then you have to follow @BetOnline_ag on Twitter and send the site a Tweet stating:
My @BetOnline_ag #poker username is X – I want to play the $1000 Twitter Freeroll on February 4th.
Remember to replace the “X” in the Tweet with your username and, provided the Tweet is sent to BetOnline by 11:59pm (ET) on Thursday, you will be eligible to register for the Twitter Freeroll once the tournament appears in the poker lobby. It only takes a few seconds to send a Tweet, and with a first prize of $270, it could be a few seconds very well spent.
New Games Slow to Attract Players
The latest additions to BetOnline Poker´s portfolio of games – particularly fast-fold Boost Poker – have been slow to attract players. Due to the site´s Bad Beat Jackpot, Boost Poker games rarely get going at stakes of $0.50/$1.00 and above, and the speed at which the games are played at lower stakes is much slower than fast-fold games at other online poker sites (typically only 70 hands per hour).
There has been a more positive response to the hyper-turbo Windfall games, although these too have failed to set the virtual felt alight. One feature of the games I am very keen on is that the mid-range prizes are drawn more frequently than at some other sites. I am sure that, as players start to see the bigger prizes coming out more often, the volume of games being played will increase.
But the Tournaments Keep Getting Bigger
If you are a fan of tournament poker, you should definitely check out BetOnline Poker´s tournament schedule. The monthly $150,000 guaranteed Main Event looks as if it is going to become a regular feature (despite there being some terrific value in undersubscribed satellites) and the midweek schedule is constantly being improved to suit players of all bankroll levels.
It is worth remembering that the site also runs three MTT leaderboard competitions each week, with a combined total of $5,000 in cash prizes up for grabs. Points in these competitions are awarded according to a simple formula that takes re-buys and add-ons into account, and if you buy into tournaments using your Comp Points, the tournaments also count towards your leaderboard position.
Don´t Miss Out on the Action at BetOnline Poker
With new games, bigger tournaments and an invitation to play in a $1,000 freeroll, there are plenty of reasons to play at BetOnline Poker. Make sure you remember to send the site your tweet by midnight on Thursday if you want to play in the freeroll event, and – if you have not yet made your first deposit at the site – remember to use the BetOnline Poker bonus code VIP1000 in order to be eligible for a 200% bonus on your first deposit up to $2,500.
