Vanessa Selbst Back Competing and Teaching the Game of Poker

Vanessa Selbst is a top poker pro who left the industry in 2017 to begin work as a hedge fund analyst. Many were sad to see her go, especially women, as she was a strong representative for females at the poker felt. Selbst started a family and began prioritizing her time differently. When playing poker professionally, it takes a great deal of travel and time away from home. Now that she has settled into family life, it seems Selbst is ready to be back in the game. She is now playing again and has decided to help players hone their skills via the World Poker Tour.

Back Again

In September 2019, Selbst was back at the table during the WPT Borgata Poker Open. She then took part in the WPT Fallsview Main Event in February a few months later. This started the return of Selbst in competitive play and she also has now started providing learning opportunities via LearnWPT.

With the Covid-19 pandemic underway, live poker is no longer an option. This has not stopped Selbst as she has taken to online gaming and will be ready to go live again once the option is available in the future.

Learn From the Best

At LearnWPT, Vanessa is providing insight into her aggressive style of play. She is no stranger to teaching and poker training videos. The poker pro has over 10 years of teaching under her belt and was one of the first to offer poker training videos to players. Her experience has made it easy to get back in the game and back to teaching.

Members of LearnWPT can watch Vanessa in action by turning in to Strategy Episodes. There is only one episode available now and more are set to come in the future. Players can easily explore the GTO Trainer of the WPT and begin to make improvements to gameplay.

Right now is a perfect time for players to work on their poker skills. As most states are just now relaxing stay at home orders, residents in the United States are staying home. To avoid the coronavirus, people are choosing to find entertainment options at home. What better way to spend your time then by viewing training videos and learning from the best?

During the pandemic, online poker sites have seen an increase in player participation. Amateurs to veterans are logging on to sites like PokerStars, the WSOP and others to play cash games and in tournament options. Operators are stepping up their game and offering even more tournament and event action to take advantage of the higher traffic numbers. Players are just glad to see a variety of options at their disposal!

For the poker world, it is nice to see that the game is being enjoyed by more players and that Selbst is deciding to dedicate more time to the game. It’s always nice to see a familiar face at the felt and watch as she dominates the field of competitors.
