BetOnline Poker is running a special four-week-long “Trick or Treat” missions promotion from next Monday with $60,000 up for grabs in cash prizes.
Inasmuch as I love BetOnline Poker´s promotions as they mostly give players of all bankrolls a chance to win something, I worry about the lack of imagination in the site´s marketing team. For example, with the latest “Trick or Treat” missions promotion, the marketing team have simply given the promotion a Halloween-themed name – there´s nothing tricky about the missions at all!
The promotion runs for four weeks from October 14th (next Monday) until November 10th and, on each of the four weeks, players will be set targets for how many raked hands they play at the cash tables and at Boost tables, and how many regular, Windfall, or Sit & Go tournaments they enter. Meet the target, and you will be entered in a Halloween Treat freeroll tournament with a $5,000 prize pool.
In addition to the four weekly Halloween Treat tournaments, there are two further bonus tournaments on Sunday November 10th, each with a $10,000 prize pool. Players who complete any of the weekly missions will be entered into the first bonus tournament, while players who complete all four missions will be entered into the second bonus tournament as well. There is also a backdoor into the second bonus tournament for players who miss a week or who start the promotion later than everybody else.
The Weekly Missions and Tournament Details
BetOnline has released details of the missions in advance so players can fit the requirements into their regular schedules. The requirements will also be published in the “My Missions” section of the poker client; which, if you have the latest version of the software installed, appears at the bottom left of the screen. There is no need to opt into the missions, and – to eliminate any doubt over the requirements – action in heads-up cash games and Sit & Go tournaments does not count towards each weekly target.
Week 1 missions start next Monday and consist of playing 50 raked hands on regular cash tables, entering 3 MTT tournaments, and playing 5 Jackpot Windfall games. It doesn´t matter what stakes you play at or what the tournament/Windfall buy-in is. Simply complete the mission by midday (ET) on Sunday 20th October to be entered into the first Halloween Treat freeroll tournament starting at 1:00pm ET. The following week´s missions are:
- Week 2 (10.21.19 to 10.27.19) – Play 25 raked hands of BetOnline´s fast-fold Boost Poker, 25 raked hands on regular cash tables, and enter 15 Sit & Go tournaments.
- Week 3 (10.28.19 to 11.03.19) – Play 25 raked hands of Boost Poker, enter 15 MTT tournaments, and enter 5 Sit & Go tournaments.
- Week 4 (11.04.19 to 11.10.19) – Play 25 raked hands of Boost Poker, 25 raked hand on regular cash tables, and 15 Jackpot Windfall games.
The backdoor route into the second bonus tournament on Sunday November 10th is a separate mission over the full four weeks of the promotion consisting of 100 raked hands of Boost Poker, 200 raked hands on regular cash tables, 20 MTT tournaments, 25 Windfall games, and 25 Sit & Go tournaments. However, if (for example) you fulfilled the requirements for the Week 3 and Week 4 missions, those raked hands and tournament entries will count towards your overall total.
The Promotion Integrates Nicely with Other BetOnline Promotions
One of the reasons to participate in the Halloween “Trick or Treat” missions promotion is that it integrates nicely with other BetOnline Poker promotions. For example, while you are playing raked hands towards your weekly target, the hands also count towards the weekly cash race, and you may also win the Bad Beat Jackpot. Similarly, games of Sit & Go count towards the weekly leaderboard challenge, and you could combine the MTT requirements with the new Money Night Football promotion.
