WPN´s OSS Cub3d Series Enjoys a Fantastic Start

OSS Cub3dThe first day of the Winning Poker Network´s OSS Cub3d series was a fantastic success, with all six Day 1 events smashing their guaranteed prize pools.

If you are familiar will the Winning Poker Network´s OSS Cub3d series, you will be aware the series is often scheduled to avoid other major global online poker events. Consequently, it is quite unusual for an OSS Cub3d series to start when two global online poker events are already underway (PokerStars´ Turbo Series and Party Poker´s KO Series) plus a significant regional event running in an area from which the Winning Poker Network often attracts players (PokerStars´ Southern European Carnaval Series).

Nonetheless, all six events on the first day of OSS Cub3d smashed their guaranteed prize pools – a remarkable achievement considering the first week of feature tournaments primarily consists of low buy-in events. Looking ahead, the outlook for the series only looks better – especially considering the Network´s two $1 million guaranteed tournaments will take place after the global and regional events have concluded. Here´s a breakdown of what happened yesterday:

Event Buy-in Guarantee Actual Prize Pool
#1 $5.50 $20,000 $29,370
#2 $22.00 $60,000 $100,640
#3 $55.00 $125,000 $194,800
#4 $2.20 $3,000 $4,750
#5 $21.00 $8,000 $9,330
#6 $104.50 $15,000 $19,000

It´s is important to note that, unlike some other network, the guaranteed prize pools for knockout events relate to the prize money only and not to how much is paid in bounties. Therefore, in Events #5 and #6 last night, a further $9,320 and $18,950 was paid out in each event respectively – the winner of each tournament naturally keeping the money that was on their heads.

Looking Ahead to Next Sunday´s Schedule

Regardless of what happens midweek, there is a massive line-up of eight valuable events scheduled for next Sunday 17th February. The pick of the bunch is the $300,000 guaranteed MOSS Main Event which has a buy-in of just $88 and is supported by a comprehensive satellite and sub-satellite schedule. There will also be a mega-satellite for the $1 million guaranteed BOSS Main Event, plus a micro-stakes Higher Roller event guaranteed for $60,000 and a $22 buy-in Warm Up event guaranteed for $80,000.

Prior to the MOSS Main Event, the Network is hosting three Mega-Satellites on Friday and Saturday evening (at 6:30 pm ET) and on Sunday morning at 12:00 midday ET. Between them the three Mega-Satellites guarantee a total of ninety seats for the target event, and to reflect the number of seats up for grabs in each Mega-Satellite, they each have different buy-in levels:

  • Friday night´s Mega-Satellite costs $11.00 to enter and guarantees fifteen seats into the MOSS Main Event.
  • Saturday night´s qualifier has a buy-in of $16.50 and guarantees twenty-five MOSS Main Event seats will be won.
  • Sunday lunchtime´s Mega-Satellite guarantees a minimum of fifty seats for the MOSS Main Event and has a buy-in of $22.00.

The Sunday lunchtime Mega-Satellite will be the most popular of the three and visitors to this site have an opportunity to win a seat in Sunday´s Mega-Satellite for free via the USAFriendlyPokerSites Freebuy on Saturday 16th February at 6:45 pm. The Freebuy costs nothing to enter, but you will be able to enhance your chances of winning a Mega-Satellite seat by purchasing a re-buy or add-on for $0.20. The [geolink href=”https://www.usafriendlypokersites.com/wpn-freebuy-passwords/”>password for our MOSS Freebuy tournament[/geolink] will be published later this week.

Don´t Forget Next Week´s OSS Cub3d Reload Bonus

Readers are also reminded that the Winning Poker Network will be offering a 50% reload bonus on deposits up to $600 from next Sunday until Saturday 23rd February. In order to take advantage of this opportunity to add some free poker money to your bankrolls, you have to make your deposit using the reload bonus code “BACK”. The bonus is cleared in the same way as the first deposit bonus at network-affiliated sites – details of which can be found in my reviews of Americas Cardroom and Black Chip Poker.
