WPN Million Dollar Sunday Reaches New Heights

Million Dollar SundaysYesterday´s Million Dollar Sunday – the highlight of the Winning Poker Network´s OSS Cubed Series – attracted 2,744 entries and paid $1,372,000 in prizes.

Last night, the Winning Poker Network hosted its eleventh Million Dollar Sunday event, and it turned out to be its biggest yet. Starting with just 730 players, more than 2,000 further players joined the action during the five hours of late registration – smashing the million dollar guarantee by more than 35%.

The massive turnout resulted in it being the longest Million Dollar Sunday event as well. The event took more than 15½ hours to complete, but the effort was worth it for eventual winner PokerTrader77 who picked up $166,061 for his victory (after a four-way final table deal) and a sterling silver bracelet to mark the achievement.

Dozens of Top Players Involved in the Action

The lure of a first prize in excess of $200,000 (there was $274,400 up top before the deal was made) attracted dozens of top players to the Million Dollar Sunday event. Runner-up in the 2015 WSOP Main Event – Josh Beckley – took advantage of Sunday´s Mega-Satellite to qualify into the event; and, at one point, well-known high-rollers Jeff Gross and Bill Perkins were seated at the same table.

Naturally, plenty of familiar online players were also present. “EpicStation” – who is better known as dual WCOOP winner “gregor7878” – enjoyed a deep run to finish in thirty-fifth place for $4,253, but there was no joy for Jesse “runzgood” Fulmer – a former Million Dollar Sunday winner – who finished twelve spots outside of the money in 417th.

Million Dollar Sunday Caps Successful Online Super Series

The Million Dollar Sunday capped a successful second leg of the OSS Cubed series in which many of the events beat their guarantees by 50% or more. Satellites feeding into the feature events were also incredibly popular – Sunday´s Mega-Satellite, for example, awarding ten seats more than its original 150 seat guarantee.

Sadly the Mega-Satellite did not prove fruitful for the three players who won their seats via our Mega Freebuy last week – “kwark” being the best performing player, but missing out on a seat in the Million Dollar Sunday by a couple of hundred places. Fortunately, every reader has another opportunity to win a major prize for free next Thursday when we host the [geolink href=”https://www.usafriendlypokersites.com/wpn-freebuy-passwords/”]USAFriendlyPokerSites BOSS Mega Freebuy[/geolink].

The Bigger Online Super Series Starts on Wednesday

The third leg of the OSS Cubed series – the Bigger Online Super Series (BOSS) – gets underway on Wednesday with seventeen events guaranteeing more than $2 million in prize money over the following five days. BOSS kicks off in style with two tournaments guaranteeing prize pools of $100,000 and a five-hour “Cage” event that has a $5,100 buy-in.

Another $100,000 guaranteed tournament is the feature event on Thursday, while on Friday the highlight is a $1,050 buy-in Super Knockout event in which each player has a $500 bounty on their head. Saturday´s action includes a 6-Max event, a re-buy and add-on event, and a PLO Hi/Lo Super Knockout event, before the series concludes in grand style on Sunday 7th May with the BOSS Main Event.

The BOSS Main Event is the highlight of the Bigger Online Super Series. The tournament has a buy-in of $2,100 and a prize pool guarantee of $750,000. Dozens of satellites are feeding into this valuable event at Americas Cardroom, Ya Poker, Black Chip Poker and True Poker, and don´t forget you can qualify for Sunday´s Mega-Satellite via our BOSS Mega Freebuy on Thursday to win one of twenty seats into the BOSS Main Event.
