Win a Free Ticket to Wild Bill´s Bounty Ride at Intertops

Wild Bill Bounty Ride at Intertops PokerIntertops is celebrating the birthday of James “Wild Bill” Hickok on Monday with a special KO event and giving players the opportunity to win a seat for free.

James “Wild Bill” Hickok (b. 27th May 1837) is one of the biggest folk heroes of the “Old West”. During his short life (he died aged 39 years), he gained notoriety as a gunfighter in his jobs as a wagon master, lawman, soldier, and spy; but he was also well-known for being an aggressive poker player – indeed he died during a game of poker when shot in the head by a player he had beaten the previous evening.

The hand Hickok was playing at the time of his death – allegedly two pairs of Black Aces and Black Eights – has since become known as Dead Man´s Hand; and, one hundred and three years after his death, Hickok´s poker-playing skills were officially recognized by the World Series of Poker when he was one of first seven former players to be inducted into the WSOP Poker Hall of Fame in 1979.

Wild Bill´s Birthday Celebrated at Intertops

Although there is little doubt Janes Hickok´s life was not as colorful as the folk lore surrounding it, [geolink href=”https://www.usafriendlypokersites.com/intertops-poker/”]Intertops Poker[/geolink] has taken advantage of the anniversary of his birth coinciding with Memorial Day to host a special Wild Bill´s Bounty Ride tournament next Monday at 7:05pm (ET). Not surprisingly, the tournament is a knockout event, with $1.00 of the $6.60 buy-in being the bounty on each player´s head.

The tournament has a guaranteed prize pool of $400 not including bounties, and a turbo format with blinds increasing every five minutes. The likelihood of somebody getting knocked out during the 25 minutes of late registration is pretty low, as players start with 5,000 chips and blinds of just 10/20. Furthermore, the tournament is a freezeout with no re-entries allowed.

How to Win a Free Ticket to the Bounty Ride

If you are a regular player at Intertops Poker, you will be aware the site is very active on social media and it can be well worthwhile following the site´s Twitter account. Earlier this week, the site posted a Tweet on Twitter inviting players to like and retweet the post and then send a Direct Message (DM) or email them with their table names to be entered into a free prize draw in which four players will win tickets to Wild Bill´s Bounty Ride.

Please note it is not enough to retweet the post or reply to the post with your table name (as I have seen some players do). You must send a Direct Message or email by 12:00 noon (ET) on Monday to be included in the draw. The four lucky winners will be notified via the same channel of communication used to enter the draw (DM or email) and the ticket to Wild Bill´s Bounty Ride will be automatically credited to winners´ accounts in good time for the start of the tournament.

EPC Velden Qualifiers Take a Break for a Week

Eagle-eyed players at Intertops Poker may notice that this weekend´s tournament schedule is a little lighter than usual due to the Memorial Day holiday. Missing from the schedule is the regular Sunday night EPC Velden Qualifier Final in which players can win packages for the European Poker Championships in Austria in July. The regular Step 1 and Step 2 sub-satellites appear in Sunday´s schedule as usual, but the next Qualifier Final will not be played until Sunday 2nd June.

Nonetheless, it is likely going to be a busy weekend at Intertops Poker with plenty of cash game action, the usual range of “Lunch Date” and “Sundowner” tournaments, and players taking advantage of the three-day weekend to help clear the Intertops Poker bonus. If you are not yet playing at the site, you could be missing out on quite a lot – especially next Monday, when there is bound to be plenty of action during Wild Bill´s Bounty Ride. Just hope you don´t flop two pairs of Black Aces and Black Eights!
