BetOnline Poker Running Unique Advent-Themed Promotion

Posted on by John Lathram

25 Days of PokerIn the run up to Christmas, BetOnline Poker is inviting players to log into their accounts each day and take part in a unique advent-themed promotion.

At first glance, BetOnline Poker´s “25 Days of Poker” promotion looks suspiciously like a run-of-the-mill missions-based promotion you typically find on Gibraltar-based poker networks. On deeper inspection however, it looks as if the creative minds at BetOnline have really thought about putting together a promotion that will appeal to most types of players.

Like run-of-the-mill missions-based promotions, you have to log into your account each day, complete a mission and win a seat in a freeroll tournament. Unlike run-of-the-mill missions-based promotions, there is barely any duplication among the missions, a good range of skills is required to cash in the freeroll tournaments, and there is a potential $2,500 bonus prize for one lucky player on Christmas Day.

How the 25 Days of Poker Works

Each day´s mission can be found on the BetOnline website or in the poker client (from the cashier tab at the top of the poker client, click on the link that reads “Active Contests”). The missions vary from taking down pots with certain hands to collecting Comp Points to playing a predetermined number of hands (no heads-up allowed and qualifying hands must see flop), and – in an unusual twist – some of the missions have to be completed playing games of Pot Limit Omaha.

If you complete the daily mission by 8:00pm (all times EST), you are awarded a ticket to that evening´s freeroll tournament at 9:00pm. The format of each freeroll tournament varies, as does the value of the prize pool. For example, tonight´s freeroll tournament is a 6-Max Turbo event with $400 in prize money, whereas tomorrow´s freeroll tournament has a Hyper-Turbo format and a $450 prize pool. Generally, the prize pools tend to increase the closer you get to Christmas.

The $7,500 Christmas Day All-In Shootout

In addition to winning a cash prize in each day´s freeroll tournament, the ten highest-finishing players in each day´s event (and the twenty-four highest-finishing players on December 24th) will be awarded a seat in a Christmas Day All-In Shootout. This event has a $7,500 prize pool – with $2,500 put aside for the winner – but unlike the daily freeroll tournaments, you will not have to be physically present to play in the tournament as you will be all-in every hand and will have no control over your betting actions.

If you win a prize in the Christmas Day All-In Shootout, it will be automatically credited to your account and is instantly withdrawable – there are no play-though or clearing requirements. However, in order to play in the Christmas Day All-In Shootout – as with all the daily freeroll tournaments – you have to manually register for the tournament. You cannot carry forward freeroll entry tickets beyond the day you have been awarded them, and the tickets have no cash exchange value.

Will the Bad Beat Jackpot be Won be Christmas?

The “25 Days of Christmas” is a fairly decent incentive to play at BetOnline Poker, but not as much as the Bad Beat Jackpot – which has grown by a further $35,000 since last week and is now closing in on $800,000. On most days of the “25 Days of Christmas” promotion, you can meet the qualifying requirements for the daily freeroll tournaments while playing at the Bad Beat Jackpot tables – giving you the opportunity to cash in both promotions at the same time.

Remember, due to recent changes to how the prize pool is divided, you don´t even have to be playing at the same table at which the Jackpot is won in order to share in the prize pool. Furthermore, the Comp Points you earn while playing at the Jackpot tables contribute towards you position in the weekly $10,000 cash race. And, if you have never played at the site before, you could also be clearing BetOnline Poker’s first deposit bonus at the same time! It is potentially a win-win-win-win situation, but only if you play at BetOnline Poker.
