2020 WSOP to Include 14 Online Bracelet Events

For the past few years, the World Series of Poker has offered online bracelet events during their summer festival. When it first began, the options were limited, but as the years go by, the WSOP officials continue to add more online events to the schedule. For the 2020 edition, the WSOP will be offering even more than the nine in 2019, to a total of 14 bracelet options online!

WSOP Upcoming Online Events

The WSOP will be in its 51st season this year, running from May 26t to July 15th. The online bracelet events will be spread out among the schedule with the first taking place on May 31st. Players in New Jersey and Nevada will be able to take part but it is unclear as to if players in the state of Pennsylvania will be able to compete.

The first event of the schedule is a No Limit Hold’em tournament which will offer one re-entry and 15,000 in starting chips. The buy-in is $400. The next online event on the schedule is a PLO 7-Handed affair taking place on June 7th. This event has a larger buy-in of $777 and will provide three re-entries and 20,000 in starting chips.

Throughout the month of June, players can take part in a Freezeout Knockout Deepstack event, an 8-Handed NLH Turbo, another Freezeout and the No Limit Hold’em Championship among other events. The buy-ins during June range from $500 to $1,500.

Even more online bracelet events are set for July, including two high roller options. the High Roller NLH 8-Handed tournament will take place on July 1st and will have a $3,200 buy-in. Players have the option for one re-entry and 25,000 in starting chips are provided.

The very next day, on July 2nd, players can log in to compete in the Super High Roller Championship. This event provides zero re-entries and 30,000 in starting chips. The buy-in to this event is $10,000.

Reduction in Re-Entry Options

For 2020, the online bracelet event schedule is quite different from previous years when considering the re-entry options. Normally, the online bracelet events will have as many as three re-entries per player. This year, the options are just one re-entry per player. There are also three events scheduled that do not have any re-entries.

The re-entries decrease should encourage poker players to take part in more events on the schedule, though only time will tell if this will be the case.

It will be interesting to see if the state of Pennsylvania will be allowed to take part in the WSOP online gaming options. Poker players in the state are logging in regularly to play online and they would definitely be able to contribute strong numbers for the online events of the WSOP.

Either way, with 14 total events on the schedule, the online offering of the WSOP is certainly growing strong. The turnout in 2020 should dictate how many events will be offered in 2021 and beyond.
