WPN’s “The Cage” Offered at Mid Stakes Buy-in

WPN's "The Cage" Offered at Mid Stakes Buy-inThe Winning Poker Network (WPN) is offering its innovative “The Cage” tournament/cash game hybrid event at a buy-in of $500+25.

Previous runnings of The Cage have been held for high stakes players at a $5,000 + 100 entry fee. Realizing that players on a tighter budget would like to compete in the event, WPN is hosting the mid stakes offering every Friday in December beginning at 7:00 p.m. ET.

For those unfamiliar with the concept, The Cage is a cash game with a time clock, featuring four hours of action. Stepping into The Cage with $500 in chips and competing at escalating blind levels each hour, the game ends when four hours are up and the chips in front of each player at the conclusion are converted into the cash equivalent of chip value.

Players who bust during the match are out and cannot rebuy. Players cannot leave The Cage before the event reaches its conclusion and must remain caged as long as they have chips to play with.

The mid stakes contests in December will be played under a No Limit Hold’em format. The blind levels increase each hour and are $1/$2, $2/$5, $5/$10 and $10/$20. Satellites are running the entire month at WPN skins such as Americas Cardroom to allow players an opportunity to win a seat to the events at a greatly reduced price.

The U.S.-friendly WPN decided to lower the buy-in for The Cage after receiving feedback from players during a previous high stakes event that was live streamed on Twitch.tv. WPN’s CEO was on hand to answer questions during the match, and heard loud and clear that players wanted the game at an entry fee that was much more manageable for most.

The Cage at a mid stakes buy-in is being hosted tonight! Players who have yet to sign up at a poker room at WPN are invited to check out our Americas Cardroom Review for more information.
